New food books list from Eater

I still don’t trust book lists that claim to have the “best” books, but some of these sound interesting.

One of the listed books that caught my eye was the biography of Judith Jones, who I know as the trailblazing editor who published cookbooks by now iconic writers like Julia Child, Marcella Hazan, Claudia Roden, Madhur Jaffrey, etc. I didn’t know that she had a much wider literary range, rescuing The Diary of Anne Frank from a reject pile and being the longtime editor of John Updike and other noted authors. The biography is written by Sara B. Franklin, a long-time friend and collaborator of Jones, and the blurb links to Franklin’s piece on the serious misrepresentations in the depiction of Jones in the HBO Max series Julia.
