Grapenuts ice cream is a favorite of mine, but I have yet to try a Vermont maple creemee. I do know that DandyLyons ice cream stand in Reading has maple soft serve, which might be the same thing. Any insights on other flavors more or less exclusive to New England or the greater Northeast?
Real Maple Walnut at Walpole Creamery.
Thanks, but maple walnut is ubiquitous.
What unique flavor(s) does it offer?
Momma’s on Mass Ave in North Cambridge has maple soft-serve, and it is delicious. Not too sweet. https://www.mommasgrocery.com/
I’ve had it an agree it is delicious. Momma’s is a little more tart than what I remember from various dairy barns at county fairs in Vermont as a kid.
The owner, a former Chowhound, uses a lot of local ingredients and the menu changes frequently.
Kelly Orchards Blueberry Chip, on the current menu , is a flavour I haven’t seen elsewhere.
Kelly Orchards blueberries are grown in Maine.
I haven’t seen the milk chocolate tahini blondie ice cream elsewhere, either.
The owner is a classically trained pastry chef. Whatever ice creams she creates that are original, that she has conceived in New England, and has made in New England, are New England specialties in my books.

Chiming in with two delectably old timey ice cream flavors.
Mocha lace ice cream dates from the Bailey’s ice cream parlors that I recall closed in the late 80’s. I believe that Lizzy’s Ice Cream in Waltham, MA still offers mocha lace, though I haven’t been there in quite some time. (FWIW, you can still find the hot fudge and butterscotch sauces made with the Bailey’s recipe at Mrs. Nelson’s Candy House in Chelmsford.)
Another is gingersnap molasses, a fall feature flavor at the Kimball Farm ice cream locations (3 in MA, 1 in NH).
I can’t do gingersnap molasses before September though. Oh wait—it is September now.
I third Momma’s. (Incidentally, they call their softserves “cremees”, both in conversation and lately on the board outside the store – is this a New England thing?)
I’m the only one that gets it, but each summer at least one Grape Nuts ice cream on the Cape is required.
My understanding is that “creemees” is a Vermont thing.

Thanks. Danielle (“Momma”) ran a store in Vermont before her Cambridge one, so she may have picked the word up there.
I’m not sure that it’s New England specific, but I enjoy the Apple Crisp flavor at Christina’s in Cambridge this time of year.
Yes. I would recommend Canteen Creemee in Waitsfield, VT for one of the better Maple Creemees I have had. It’s really just soft serve, but a bit more aerated. Some places claim a higher butterfat content, but I couldn’t tell the difference. I’m sure being at the source of top quality VT maple syrup helps.
