My first walleye - Custer, South Dakota

Last week we drove from the northern California coast to Custer, South Dakota so my husband could see Mt. Rushmore. We stayed In Custer, SD and had a great dinner at Custer Wolf. I had the walleye po’boy with small chunks of lightly fried fish and a wonderful dill slaw. I thought it would be too much to finish, but I ate the whole thing, bread and all. Lovely place and people. Our server told us that walleye is the state fish, but they have to import it from Alaska because they don’t allow commercial walleye fishing in SD. We tried to go back for another dinner but they were slammed. Oh well.
On the way back, we saw the Devil’s Tower in Wyoming. I enjoyed that a lot.
