My 2025 Georgia Tour

Earlier this year I drove down to Georgia and, working mainly out of Brunswick, at at a whole lot of places there and in the Carolinas (Elliot’s, Wilber’s, Grady’s) culminating in a pig pickin’ in Lumberton – too may to report on individually here. Some highlights were Hootenannys in Brunswick – a terrific barbecue place. Each of these places is definitely worth a detour.

with excellent brisket ![hoot brissk0|700x451](upload://gPv4RHm5qbyHGsyAYfMLKN3LEtU.jpeg) blueberry(!) sausage that won me over ![hoot sausage|700x379](upload://tO1XH15dZ0PIs2iPqd3FG2yu9YV.jpeg) and a better bologna than I'd thought could exist.

Also Southern Soul, out on the island, with more first class barbecue

B & J’s steakhouse in Darien witha solid pound of perhaps the best fried shrimp on earth for $20

Terrific pre-Franklin brisket at Gary Lee’s Market in Brunswick, just off 95

and a bit of a surprise outside

and on my way back, Fresh Air, very old school place

with wonderful Brunswick Stew

wonderful pork and one of the best sauce around

More details are, of course on my blog (search 2025 Georgia Tour). I would have more but there were so many places and I’m still working on our Bordeaux stay, with a river cruise, Paris, a Western NC tour, and a VA-NC-SC trips to write up. I guess I should all do highlights of the Charleston Road Food Crawl and Blowing Rick, NC. Sheesh. Happy to answer questions though.

Where did all my photos go?

Admins – help!

@johntannerbbq - they’re all there. Hover over the first photo and you’ll see a right-facing arrow in the lower right-hand corner. You can click through that way. OR - you can click the little dots at the bottom of your post to see each individual picture.

I know others post multiple pictures this way elsewhere on HO; I can’t recall how it’s done, but you did it! LOL

And HOLY HELL those shrimp look absolutely amazing!

You post multiple photos using the icon that looks like a mountain, to the left of the Upload icon.

Ahhh, thanks! I just hit the upload button all the time and never knew how others got the photos in a single click-through set-up. Thanks!

Whew! Thanks!

I was astounded! Every bit as good as they looked. It’s really enough for two to share.

If all pictures are in the first post, you could delete your second as it seems to be a duplicate.

Even though I clicked thinking I’m gonna see some serious Tbilisi porn, this is great stuff.

And I learned something new. I usually drag the images, but this is better

Looks great!

(And you inadvertently set up an image gallery - it’s the icon that looks like a pic. Very efficient way to share a lot of pics!)
