[Mountain View] Chefmus- Turkish food truck

Recently profiled by KQED, Chefmus is not too far from home so we gave them a try about a month ago.

Adana kabob, which was said to be the star of the show, was unfortunately out at around 5pm. So we got two boxes and a wrap.

Kufta kabob.

Chicken kabob

The chicken kabob wrap

At first, I didn’t read the article and just started eating. What kind of bread was I eating? It seemed awfully like a tortilla. Only until I read the article did I know that they were using tortilla instead of pide because they hadn’t found a source for it yet.

The kabobs were a bit of a mix bag. Its a bit on the dry side. I am not Turkish and hence I am not married to the Turkish flavors, so I thought both the Rose Market and Real Produce nearby, even though they weren’t Turkish, had juicier kufta and chicken kabob. Chefmus’ chicken used breasts so they were too lean.

Lentil soup, which was creamy and smooth. On that day, the soup got my vote as the best dish.

So my suggestion for others: Come early and grab the adana kabob for lunch, and see how it tastes like.

They are right at the corner of El Camino and Grant. In the gas station parking lot.
