Morning buns

I’ve recently “discovered” morning buns from orwashers, at the local farmer’s market. They’re very good but I’m not sure if the farmer’s market will be accessible for me in the winter months. Does anyone know of any Westchester bakeries that make them? It’s basically rolled croissant dough with cinnamon rolled in and sprinkled with sugar. I think some also flavour them with citrus- I don’t think orwashers does.

Sorry not in the exact location you are asking but look up bread alone. They make them and we always stop on our way home from the Catskills. A few locations and I have seen their bread in some stores in the tri state area.

Thnx, I’ve seen their bread in some local stores but I don’t think I’ve ever seen the morning buns, but I’ll look more closely in the future.

Check Instacart with your zip code for grocery stores that might have it, or grub hub for smaller bakeries and cafes.

I will warn you. They are insanely delicious! They have just a tiny touch of apple too. So. Good.

They’re originally a Bay Area thing. I never heard of a morning bun until I came out here.

I’d never heard of them til I tried them from Orwasher’s and even then I didn’t know their name I had to go back a week later and describe them (that week they were already sold out, so I couldn’t even just point at them. While “researching” since then, I find that a traditional one often includes some orange/zest flavouring. I think Goldbellys has a bakery that has it with lemon, and further on here someone mentioned apple, so I guess there are many variations. I had one the other day that was insanely good but. definitely not what the doctor ordered - I had heated one up and then drizzled some sour cherry fruit spread on it… so good.

Here I thought it was something that peaked out from under the blankets…

I’ll see myself out :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I saw this thread title and groaned “oh, no”. I’ve spent years chasing buns of steel, but now they must also be “morning”? (As in perky?)

I don’t know anyone who’s perky in the morning. If I did, I’d find them terribly annoying.

I was texting a while ago with a friend of mine in Goa, and she interrupted to say that she heard the bread seller’s bicycle bell announcing that he was there with fresh bread; so she went to get their morning rolls. I was jealous!

To make you more jealous, when my parents’ mail delivery guy bicycled in every day he’d ring his bell and announce “Senior fooddabbler sahib, your mail is here and your son is OK.”
