I’m trying to find out which type of cancer he had??
The article mentions persistent drinking, perhaps his liver was affected??
Still very sad… 53 is so young.

I can’t remember the name of the series … but in one he had a physical exam in NYC, told you the cost, then he flew to Bangkok, went to best hospital there, very modern, gorgeous, had a complete physical. He swallowed a tiny camera that went through his system.
Cost was much lower, of course.
Very eye opening for me.

I skimmed a few articles, one mentioned colon rectal cancer, which unfortunately lines up with the current trend, increase among younger adults (defined as under age 50 or 55?)…some in their 20s and 30s. Lifestyle probably didn’t help.

Thank you. There are a lot of posts falling into the fundamental attribution hole, when no one knows the whole body of a person-- or certainly not those owning or tending direct to that body.

I can’t even.
Without getting into the health and cause-of-death issues, he was a vastly complicated and problematic figure.
Not quite ready to dance on his grave just yet like I would on MJ’s any damn day.
If you want to talk about his films, sure. Def problematic. And there is the harassment for sure. But I’d just prefer people avoid the “brought this early death on himself” narrative.

About fifteen years ago my uncle found out he had bladder cancer while working in Bangkok. He went to the best private hospital, had a private room, and he said the staff (and food) were wonderful. The treatment was a huge success. He paid for everything out of pocket. And he said the whole thing from initial testing and diagnosis through surgery, radiation, and follow-up testing and care, cost him under $3500 US altogether. I don’t think you can get even one MRI in the US for that amount.

Medical care is cheaper almost anywhere than the US.

It is possible that some people’s initial thoughts are “Could this happen to me??” And they search for a reason as to “why” this gentleman died at a relatively young age.
Once they have an excuse that does not apply to them, they rest easy that their days are not numbered.
