Monterey: Losing our favorite bakery Parker-Lusseau

M. Lusseau is a Master Patissier and PLB is our Gold Standard for croissants as well as pastries. We are depressed; it’s all well and good to say that their recipes go with the new owner, but our experience with Patisserie Angelica/Sebastopol when it was sold, was not a good one - the new chef makes everything with more sugar (ugh!).

Fingers crossed PLB remains close to the same under the new owner:

Parker-Lusseau Owners to Retire

After 30 years of providing flaky croissants and fancy European chocolates, bakers Anne Parker and Yann Lusseau of Monterey’s Parker-Lusseau Pastries have decided it’s time to retire. But their business will continue under the leadership of Jeanne Brooks of Bee’s Knees Bakery. Brooks has a background in French baking and has been working alongside the owners and staff at Parker-Lusseau since February to learn their recipes and techniques.
