If ever there is a meal that requires a follow-up blood test to check blood sugar level for borderline diabetics that participated in the feast?! Guess this must be it!!
Besides a few unhealthy but lip-smacking good fried chicken wings dishes, every dish we ordered was heavy on carbs and light on protein!
In addition to the house special water pan fried pork buns ( excellent light and fluffy dough! One of the better ones in town! ), we tried almost all pancakes, both savoury and sweet, that were listed on the menu! Fillings with chives, scallions, red bean paste, roasted beef…etc.
On top we also ordered a bowl of complex, umami loaded, super spicy Glass noodle soup. So good yet soooo spicy!
To augment the rest of the meal we added an authentic tasting and enjoyable Taiwanese Braised Pork Rice plus a couple of crunchy and well dressed Fried Chicken wings.
Lastly, a steamed basket of Xiao Lung Bao to finish off our carbs-blowout!! Surprisingly, this common product turned out to be a gem and the favourite dish of the evening …each morsel loaded with an abundance of excellent and flavourful broth with well seasoned light pork filling.
Now, back to eating something more healthy!! Ha!
