I’ll be returning to Rome after a week in Emilia-Romagna and already have my traditional places covered. I would like to know if anyone has a favorite place for slightly more creative fare than just well- executed Cucina Romana. Price doesn’t matter so if there is a Michelin starred place that’s really worth the time and expense I’d consider that. But I am hoping someone has had a great meal recently at a fun chef-driven spot where the menu changes with the seasons and the dishes on offer are not the same everywhere else. Thanks!
What about RETROBOTTEGA?
We really enjoyed Cecilia Santa Cucina in Trastevere. https://en.ceciliasantacucina.com/
It was stylish, hospitable the open kitchen was a lot of fun, and the food was delicious. A couple of local groups were celebrating special occasions the saturday lunchtime we visited. Not reallyon a lot of radar screens seemingly and not super cutting edge but competently creative in thetradition.

I have had great dinners at Retrobottega a couple times, but it was years ago (pre-pandemic), so I hesitated to recommend it.
that link to Cecilia Santa Cucina doesnt work any more. a very good place for something a little less traditional and definitely stylish but still delicious. Here us a new link that works to their “about” page. https://www.ceciliasantacucina.com/about
