Mods were busy this morning, when somebody posted a rude reply to something I wrote. It’s good that they acted quickly, and the reply was “temporarily suspended” or something like that.
Later, it was removed completely. This hole interfered with the flow of conversation.
Instead of removing posts, could the text just be replaced with something like “This post was removed because it didn’t adhere to community standards.” I think all other forums and comments sections that I’ve seen do this. That way, my own and others’ replies to the rude one wouldn’t be hanging, referring to something that’s no longer there.

I had a post flagged and removed today. Got a note from the mods, but can’t for the life of me remember anything objectionable I could have posted.

I used to play on a Tripadvisor forum where, once they’d removed a “reported post”, they also removed any posts which had commented on the transgression. Which means that no-one is left wondering what the transgression was. It is as though it never happened - which, to me, is just as it should be.
it is a Discourse platform option to remove replies to flagged post if they are deleted, but that is only if deleted. i believe replies to flagged post remain until a mod takes action.
That’s correct on both. I had linked all of the follow-on replies to the initial multiple posts in a DM to the Mods when I got to work (easier for me to do on a computer vs. my phone), and they were taken care of today.
