@Roro1831’s post on the Food News topic reminded me that I wanted to start one for Milk Sugar Love, so here you go!
This is an opening that I’ve certainly been excited about…I first met the owner when she did a popup at C’est Cheese here in AP. She made ice cream sandwiches with (iirc) brie ice cream w a ripple of fig jam, and they were served on prosciutto cookies. (Read that again if you need to.) YES, PLEASE! She’s also been at the AP farmer’s market with her cart, and for the last few weeks leading up to the official shop opening last weekend, the cart has been in front of the shop. That’s where I tried both the Bodega, Bodega and Sour Cream Blueberry flavors.
Bodega, Bodega is described as a Frito base (yes, FRITOS) with zebra cakes and cosmic brownie pieces in it. I honestly wasn’t sure what I’d think but WOW. If you like salty and sweet, it’s a MUST-try if it’s in the case. The Sour Cream Blueberry description: rich, sour cream-based ice cream swirled with a blueberry jam made with cinnamon, ginger, and other spices. DELICIOUS!! And I’ll get over there this weekend to try the blueberry that @Roro1831 mentioned because I can’t get enough bloobs right now.
I didn’t know a thing about this place before the word got out, but Emma (the owner) has competed on Chopped and the JC location has been on many lists for ‘best of’ for the last 5+ years, so the street cred is there.
