I’m actually a little surprised that mangosteens are now grown in Mexico. Is there a season for them?
The one bag that I bought was the smaller sized mangosteens but the peel seems relatively soft and easy to squish open. The interior of the shell resembles the picture with it being a more bright purple (I’m a little too use to seeing the more brownish ones from SE asia due to transport likely). Sweet and juicy flesh, though eating these things are like a drain on your wallet. 1 lb is 10 bucks @_@
