Mensae, Paris 19

Mensae opened in Belleville about ten years ago. It received very positive reviews from the press, including my late friend John Talbott, but when I ate there twice not long after it was opened, I was unenthusiastic. It now has a different chef, so I went back last Saturday to see how things are going.(https://thefinewinereview.substack.com/p/mensae-paris-19?utm_source=substack&utm_medium=email&utm_content=share)

Onz, thanks for this excellent report (as usual) — it goes on our list!

Thanks for this. I remember the buzz around this place way back when, but I never went. I really like the looks of the menu - don’t see frogs legs very often these days.

I’ve seen frog’s legs several times the past few weeks; perhaps they’re making a comeback? The ones at Astier are excellent.
