I’ve been eyeing Hinata since @Mr_Happy posted about the meal . Is anyone interested in an omakase at Hinata in San Francisco this Sunday at 6pm?
If you are interested, reply here. $125 for the grand omakase with 18 courses. $85 for the petite omakase.

I think we’ll make separate reservations (they charge if people cancel with short notice) and I will ask the restaurants to sit us together, hopefully at the counter.
I am going regardless. One of the rare times my family isn’t around and I get to indulge in sushi.
I had a really enjoyable omakase sushi dinner at Hinata recently. Hinata, which is on Van Ness and Eddy on the edge of the Tenderloin, opened in 2016 with a pretty affordably priced $78 omakase. The price of omakase is now $125, still fairly reasonably priced I think. I was seated at the bar.
Eater blurb from way back in 2016:
Three Starters (clockwise starting from top):
UMI MASU
Ocean Trout
The trout was complemented nicely by the tomato and fresh sweet sauce.
UMAKI
Eel Rolled Egg Omel…
