having flown all of the US majors, plus BA, Lufthansa, SAS, Air France, Icelandic (!!yeh turboprops to Europe!!) . . . . I have a very simple rule - never to be violated.
Never get on a plane hungry. Pre-Eat for the whole flight . . .

I would agree, but I enjoy some things even when I am not hungry! I enjoyed this enough to put it on next weekâs menu!
Maybe it would look more appealing if I hadnât started eating before I took the picture.
My rule is always go for the braised dish.
You didnât like the Air France food - we recently had great dishes
3-4 trips per year . . . I found BA to be the most consistent in service and food.
it was not always great/good/passable . . .
any airline on any given day on any given route . . . can be superb, or abysmalâŚ
at least for non-US airlines.
for US airlines 1980+ . . . difficult to find any flight on any route at any time that are anything more than garbage @ 30,000 ft.
Wow! You might be yukinâ some yums! Iâm not saying itâs restaurant worthy, but I wouldnât call most meals Iâve had garbage! Of course, could just be me.
which could possibly explain my inviolate rule to âpre-Eat for the duration?â
I have been know to pick out bits and pieces of the âmeal trayâ - and leave the rest for the disposal crew.
typically, the roll, butteredâŚ
Agreed on US based carriers but I think you are too negative on several non-US carriers which can deliver pretty decent meals consistently
