If it’s worth doing well, it’s worth doing to excess.

Not everything worth doing, is worth doing well

Reminds me of the Julia Child quote about a well-timed buffet. (I paraphrase and who know if what I read somewhere was attributed to her )
Mine is not so well-timed.
