McDonald's in General

Just …no. I’ll take them separately.

Brings to mind the good old adage “just because you can doesn’t mean you should.”

I’d try it, YOLO

:scream: - I dare you. You could probably get your local McD’s to make it for you off-menu.

Damn, you Brits get all the good stuff.

Time to make a trip to London.

Ugh. Even in classic surf and turf, you don’t eat the beef and seafood together… it’s just two items on a plate. If they add the apple pie, they could create Willy Wonka’s 3 course dinner gum in one bite.

Might as well slap some fries in there.

I accept your challenge!! I could just buy 2 cheeseburgers and a Filet O Fish and get the same result.. + it would have that extra umami of the tartar sauce!! :man_shrugging: :pinched_fingers:

And a McRib for good measure!

That reminds me of the mashup of a McDonald’s chicken sandwich stuffed into a McDouble. Supposedly, you could order a McGangbang to get it/them. I’d eat that, but I’m not sure I’d eat the Surf n Turf.

We’re going to one-up the Brits here.

Double Filet-O-Fish with a cheeseburger patty wedged in.

Because 'Merica.

I truly cannot imagine ever going back. Against my better wishes…we are on the go a few days ago and had few options for a very rushed meal…so, I tried a quarter pounder-- tasted spoiled and the fries came soggy and half full. It’s a sad shadow of itself. Their quality is just so awful (at least in the united states) and their prices utterly out of touch with value. It’s like the Entenmann’s of fast food. Will they realize before it is too late that nearly every competitor is far superior? It feels like I am watching a company in the early stages of fatal disease. They sure are lucky they are such a profitable landlord.

I only eat at McDonald’s occasionally on the road, and I do think the quality and service varies wildly from store to store. There’s a McDonald’s in Buttonwillow, CA that has good food, great service, and is super clean and friendly. Recently we went to one in Reno, NV that was awful, dingy, and felt very sketchy. So maybe you just hit a bad one. Not defending, just an observation from my experience.

I appreciate that. I was a McDonald’s supporter for years-- particularly because of their consistency and nostalgia. Now, almost every order is bungled and missing things-- including entire meals- and the shrinking portions and inferior ingredients are just impossible to overlook when competitors have better quality ingredients, better service and better deals. I think their disregard for value, quality and their customers feels a bit offensive and deliberate now. I think they believe their customers don’t deserve better.
