Is anybody familiar with an online (to me) company called Gardenzini?
I made an order without researching it first, which I don’t usually do.
Oh man, my bad, it’s Gardenizi.
Suggest you put the name of the website in the title of your thread, so people know what it’s about.
I am not, but looks nteresting, at least for one-stop shopping!
I signed up for something similar, paid for a year, and now I don’t know what it’s called!
ETA it was this one

Great for keeping track of and adding to my perennial plants; not about food gardening, though .
Never, but I’m not getting good vibes from the website. It looks beautiful, but the pictures and the content under “about us” is very generic, and (dare I say) sounds made up? This website domain has only existed since end of June 2024, so not surprising your not going to find a lot of reviews on the site. They also link to Facebook account and Instagram accounts that either don’t exist, or don’t seem to be theirs.
A new website is telling, but it’s note definitive. Since they have a support email, you can try to see if you can get someone live to inquire about your order. There is no address for this place that has a such a big store (if their pictures are real). The store itself has the website supposedly right under the name, but that seems odd given the website again has only existed for 3 months. If you’re not feeling good about the order, try to cancel.
Seeds ship from China. I would purchase from a domestic supplier.
Seeds ship from China
Where did you your that?
I am skeptical of the tomato seeds in offer, particularly what the are calling “Dwarf Tomatoes Seeds”. That name isn’t right. I noticed one of the stories shared is titled “there is no such thing as blackberry tomato”.
I had a terrible time making a return and getting a refund from a company in China. Lesson learned.
Their refund and cancellation policies seem worrisome, and there are odd examples for a gardening website.
I’m always weary when a website or e-commerce business does not provide a telephone number.
I see; thank you.
What caught my eye was the 1 hour to cancel for a full refund, 6 hours to cancel for a 75% refund, and 15 days to return.
For my own adventure it was “do not return to senders address…”, which for me, after asking for it several times was followed by being warned about the hazards of returning items to China, and offers of $5, 10, and 15 USD instead.
I didn’t want to put a link in in case I messed up and the site wasn’t safe, but they’ve been updating me on the shipment. I did see that they ship from Wuhan, China, not sure whether to be worried or not, I guess I’ll give it some UV therapy when it comes.
But you’re right, maybe I should have. I will do so going forward
See my response to small h
I don’t doubt that they’re odd, I saw them on an Instagram post, which is famous for advertising lousy quality items. Plus I’m guessing that English is a second language, nothing wrong with that by itselfIf they don’t ship, I’ll be okay, it didn’t cost much but I noticed that they ship from Wuhan
I guess I’ll UV bomb it when or if it gets here.
Personally, I wasn’t worried about what might come along for the ride; I was just letting you know that if you don’t like what you get, you might want to skip trying to return it, and take the cash if they make an offer!
I ended up paying about $47 dollars in shipping to get a refund of $126 about five months and six increasingly angry emails later.
I have come to believe this sort of commerce is what is being discussed where such things are allowed, in the context of tariffs.
I will, thanks.
Hopefully, that’s the worst of it. I suspect the whole page of the “about us” is fake, so I’m not sure why the charade of fake, young founders, and why the almost certainly fake suggestion that they have a B&M sure. If you want to sell cheap seeds that ship from overseas, just advertise as such. If Temu can get millions in orders in a short period, surely there’s a proven market for cheap goods.
I would also monitor activity on your CC for a while just to make sure nothing suspicious is charged to it.
The lotus seeds arrived yesterday, and as I read up on propagation I saw that I bought them at the exact wrong time of year. Oh well, I’ll try hatching them in March or so.
That’s good that you at least got what you ordered. I’ve been ambivalent about trying to grow lotus in my yard for years too. I love how beautiful they are, but worry about the upkeep, and the likelihood of a mosquito breeding pool.
Usually when we have still water we also have some mosquito fish (or in one case I spawned some bettas) in it to eat the larvae. When the water’s being filtered, the agitation won’t let any larvae mature, if they do hatch.
Actually, I take that back. I filter the water if there are fish in it , just a lot less than if I’m actively deterring mosquitoes.
