Mama’s Vegetarian has reopened as Mama’s Falafel! Different owner but reportedly with some of the recipes from MV’s. The falafel sandwich was delicious, pillowy soft pita bread, well seasoned falafel with great texture ( not hard, not mushy) and fresh vegetables. Got the spicy red sauce but should have gone with the green spicier one I think. Points for the pickled veg bar on the side!

Nice! I love a good falafel. Will keep that in mind when we’re around Center City

The food truck outside of the CVS at 10th/Passyunk/Reed is incredible too !

Perhaps a lunch option for me. Is the food like most halal carts, i.e. chicken, falafel, or lamb over rice, red sauce, white sauce, etc?
Exactly! They also have the over salad option. And there’s a great park/playground a block or so away at 12th between Wharton and Reed that has picnic tables if you want to dine al fresco! (Can you tell that’s what I do? There’s also a bottle shop a couple blocks down Passyunk 
)
