Making your own holiday gift basket in Ontario- what would you include?

I was a Soma fan girl for about 10 years. Some years I was spending $2000 a year at Soma, on Easter, Christmas and hostess gifts.

I don’t visit quite as often now. It is still a great product.

Most recently, I tried Acorn chocolates and Aline Nasseh chocolates. I liked it the Aline Nasseh a little more.

David Chow chocolates are delicious, too https://www.davidhchow.com/products-1

Have you tried PDC’s pie yet? If so, what’s your option vs Sanagan’s?

It was good. I baked it last night.

While I have given Sanagan’s tourtières to 3 friends for Xmas, I haven’t tried it myself, so I can’t compare them!

The PDC tourtière has more of a pulled pork texture than a ground meat texture, and has a less greasy filling than some. Potatoes and mushrooms are also added, but finely chopped so they’re not distinct chunks.

The pastry is crisp and flaky, even on the bottom crust. It is slightly heavier on the salt and clove than some. It’s very good.

I checked online last night, and it looks like these frozen PDC tourtières are only sold around Xmas time. The APDC online store has some canned goods and condiments, but no frozen goods right now.

I’ll try the Sanagan’s tourtière to compare in a month or 2.
