I really liked her. Watched her show when it was on.
If I had had a tv, I would have watched it. I don’t see any episodes on YouTube, but they must exist.
She was on in the late 80s and not for long. PBS, I think. Here’s one from You Tube.
Her Newton, MA, restaurant was wonderful, though long gone. I picked up one of her cookbooks at a discount store and the recipes are obviously first rate. A friend who is a chef trained under Mme Kamman, said she was an unpleasant, prickly taskmaster.
Sounds like a chef all right.
1984-1991, according to the obit
I think you misread Gwenn’s comment. She wrote that the TV show was on in the late 1980’s, not that Mme. Kamman died in her 80’s.
The obituary said that the show ran on pbs from 1984–1991.
Apologies, my mistake. I read 1894-1991 thinking she was 97, completely ignoring the fact that she died this year. Idiote-moi!
Oh my - I do that stuff all the time!!!
Me too, increasingly.
