Lunch with kids in lower Manhattan (after Staten Island ferry ride)

We want to take my daughter on the Staten Island ferry so she can get a glimpse of the Statue of Liberty, which she is very interested in from books she’s read. Afterwards we’d like to grab lunch downtown. Some options that stand out are Hey Thai, Dim Sum Palace, and Tacombi. There will be 4 adults and 3 kids, and we’re not looking for anything fancy. We’d like a sit down option. How are these options? They look to be pretty decent from reviews I’ve read. I’m very open to suggestions. Really no parameters in terms of cuisine - the kids are all fairly adventurous. I’d say a 20 min walk from the ferry terminal is doable. We can’t get great Thai in Westchester so that option is definitely tempting. Also, for all the kids and adults with sweet tooths (sweet teeth?), where is the best ice cream or bakery nearby? Thanks in advance!!!

One idea is to eat on Staten Island before you take the ferry back – cab or bus outside the ferry to Lakruwana for Sri Lankan. Then take the ferry back for dessert.

On the Manhattan side, you can skew a few ways from interesting to crowd-pleasing. There’s Caravan Uyghur and Farida, one Uyghur, one Kazakh/Central Asian. There’s Eataly, which is easy (and has gelato). There’s Brookfield place, with more easy options.

Or you could go a bit further up into Chinatown (cab or M15 bus outside the ferry) – Joe’s Shanghai, Dim Sum Go Go, or Wu’s Wonton King should be able to fit your group (you can make a rez). Lots of bakeries to indulge a sweet tooth in Chinatown after, or Chinatown ice cream factory, or one of the rolled ice cream places.

I agree with @Saregama suggestions for Chinatown. And I’ll add Caffe Roma in Little Italy if you want coffee/pastry. I love the atmosphere of that place.

Not sure where you are in Westchester, but my SO and I enjoy Eagle Thai on McLean Ave in Yonkers

You have some good choices already. Just adding that I really like Adrienne’s Pizza Bar which is not far from there.
