Lucky Chinese is BACK

Sometimes there is good news, and in this case it’s VERY good news!

This family-owned/staffed hole-in-the-wall Chinese place in SODO Seattle was a mainstay in exceptionally good, inexpensive eating until a greedy landlord tried to triple their rent. Their house fried rice was the best I’ve ever eaten. Wahine and I mourned their closing a couple of years ago, and lined up for some of their last orders.

Last night, Wahine discovered Lucky is newly back in business!! https://www.yelp.com/biz/lucky-chinese-restaurant-seattle?start=20 The reopened place isn’t far from their original digs, either.

Please join us in supporting them at 6538 4th Ave S Seattle, WA 98108.

Aloha,
Kaleo

Three orders of Lucky Fried Rice! Two for the freezer.

Never quire as good as fresh from the wok, but still the best, wok hei, and loaded with the good stuff.

For those who believe in karma or joss, the old space has stood vacant now for almost two years since Lucky Chinese was forced out.

They’re super close to me, I’ve been meaning to try them but fried rice isn’t usually one of my go-to dishes. Is that their specialty & worth getting anyway? Maybe I’ll try a noodle soup some rainy day.

I think they do most things very well. The only thing I’ve tried that was merely good was their hot-and-sour soup.

I tried them once on your recommendation and it lived up to the hype. I’m glad to be able to go back!

Cool, I’ll give them a shot.

I have been to Taqueria la Rienda next door, enjoyed the carnitas burritos.
