Hi all. Looking for your fave lunch/dinner tacos (ie pastor not egg and potato) between or around these 2 midtown locations. Gotta have great meat, homemade tortillas, and a salsa bar. We used to live in LA but its been years. Prefer a brick and mortar so there’s a place to sit and chill for awhile, but a truck with a seating area works.
Potato guisado tacos can be stellar and don’t have to need to be breakfast.
Not vouching for this specific version, however, since I didn’t try it.
Mid-Wilshire near the Tar Pits/museum row, food trucks use to line up on the street (south side), like 20 or so. I think it’s still a thing. Many taco trucks, inlcuding Koji tacos. This was pre-pandemic. I tried like 3 places, including Koji. Sorry no recommendations, too long ago. However since you mentioned mid-Wilshire, thought I’d mention it since you’ll likely drive by. Better for lunch imo.
Still a thing, found this.
Thank you. When I worked in the area, those food trucks did congregate in that area at lunchtime. Kogi was never there though, but Kogi is on our list too near to the alibi room for dinner because one of our party was sick and not up to eating much when we went to best friend in Vegas another of Roy Choi’s restaurants.
