Alison Cook is leaving the Chronicle after 22 years. She’s been a fixture on the Houston restaurant scene since the 1970s, starting as the HBJ Gourmet when she was Houston’s first anonymous reviewer, free to criticize even advertisers. She’s had a big influence on the development and growth of the restaurant scene here.
