Just a quick mention of the buffet at Ram’s (203 Kenton Road, HA3 0HD). It’s not extensive — three hot dishes plus chutneys, salad, rice, and fresh-cooked puris — but very well executed. The blackeye beans were among the best I’ve ever had, with an absolutely perfect texture. The puris will also be of interest to bread-lovers; I’m more of a rice person, but these were very fresh, nicely flaky, and not overly greasy.
