[London, Clerkenwell] Morito

I’ve mentioned this place before, but have had a number of enjoyable plates here in the past.

Last week I went with jfores, who kindly took some photos. Another enjoyable meal.

Deep fried aubergine had a crisp richness, a yoghurty sauce and a vinegary dressing balanced the flavours well. I believe this was the highlight for jfores.

Betroot borani, a regular fixture on the menu.

Roast lamb on humous, jfores found this slightly too salty, but I have a soft spot for this dish, and think it’s amazing.

Pork belly. The sauce is very sharp and lemony, sets off the fattiness of the pork perfectly.

Thanks for this — that aubergine looks amazing. Are they still no-booking in the evenings?

I believe so. I normally go at lunchtimes, so can’t tell you much about getting in during the evenings. I think once I went for dinner at around 18:30 and it was pretty empty, but started to fill up while I was there.

Great pictures. I really like this place.

We really enjoyed the food here, too. Thanks for the reminder to make another trip up north.
