Little Shucker [San Francisco, Lower Pacific Heights]

I had a mostly bivalve based lunch at the punily named Little Shucker on Fillmore in the Lower Pacific Heights today. Little Shucker is from the owners of The Snug nearby, and opened last year.

More info from Eater SF:

First, six oysters ($27) - Miyagi on the left, Kumamoto on the right. There was a mignonette, lemon, and hot sauces. They were good oysters with lots of liquor and expertly shucked.

I splurged a bit and got the caviar service ($110). This had an ounce of Tsar Nicoulai Golden Osetra caviar, accompanied with sour cream dip, buttered and toasted pan de mie rounds, finely chopped chives, and potato chips, which are great with caviar. It was very nice.

I made canapés.

I also had some of the baked oysters ($14 for two)
Counter-clockwise from left, in the order recommended to eat them:

garlic butter
chive oil, garlic beurre blanc

rockefeller
spinach, pancetta, grana padano

miso bone marrow
pickled daikon, cilantro

They were all very good. I liked the miso bone marrow ones the most - the miso and bone marrow added a lot of umami and the lightly pickled daikon added some welcome acidity. The garlic butter I liked next most - it had a simple garlic butter sauce and some bread crumbs for crunch. The rockefeller was also good, but the grana padano was a little strong.

And finally I had the sashimi of the day ($22), which was hamachi dressed with a sauce of yuzu and tamari and topped with nori and some gochugaru / Korean chili pepper, with some wasabi on the side. The fish was very meaty.

This was a delicious seafood lunch and a bit of a splurge.
