My spring onion “took” me to lunch at Legal Harborside for Father’s Day. I’m reminded how good their white clam pizza is, freshly shucked clams, pancetta, topped with arugula and a bit of shredded parmesan. Better that Pepe’s, IMO. Not always on the menu, but has rotated off and back on a couple of times; not sure if it’s seasonal.
The Legal on the mystic at Assembly also serves a clam pie. For my taste, it has too much cheese and too few clams, but it’s still something I’ve ordered several times and enjoyed. Haven’t been to Pepe’s in Chestnut Hill, but I do have very fond memories of a clam pie at Pepe’s in New Haven decades ago. Bertucci’s used to have a clam pie. Those days are long gone.
The one I had at Legal Harbourside was not heavy on cheese, and the clams though not overabundant (is that possible?) were reasonably plentiful.
