There is always tensions between the English and the French, even without this Rayner’s review, it is historical, believe me!

The chef running the kitchen back then was Éric Briffard, he managed to get 2 Michelin stars. He was replaced by Christian Le Squer in about 2014 with the aim of getting the third star - which he has done as well as winning several other accolades.

I’ve always thought it an amazing co-incidence that the Battle of Hastings happened near a place actually called Battle.
