Lactose free ice cream

Beleive it or not - Ralph’s has an excellent store brand lactose free ice cream. It’s also sugar free, so you won’t get the exact mouthfeel you are looking for, but it’s cheap, tasty and readily available. And for my husband who doens’t like to eat sugar at night (it keeps him up) - it’s an excellent option.

The chocolate and vanilla are good, if a bit spartan. The peanut butter fudge tastes the most like “real” ice cream. I highly rec it : )

24-hr home fermented yogurt is lactose free, if one really wants yogurt.

Does it have to have stayed out on the counter, or can you count 24h from the time you started fermenting and then put it in the fridge? The former would be really sour for me, but the latter is pretty normal.

The former: https://thecolitisblog.com/2020/03/12/store-vs-homemade-yogurt-big-lactose-difference/#:~:text=The%20Homemade%20Yogurt%20(Recipe)%20is,tolerate%20the%2024%20hr%20yogurt.

Thank you. So far I’m very happy with Ben & Jerry’s dairy-free options but they’re usually around $7.49 for just a pint (sometimes on sale at <$5). The price per pint of the Ralph’s is just a fraction so well worth a try.

They do. It’s really good, but pricey. I know because I have two flavors in my freezer right now.
