Now I know why old wantan mee stalwarts like Koon Kee and Ho Weng Kee in KL are seeing a drastic drop in their businesses - newbies like Good Taste (this one is located in Bukit Jalil) are coming up with better noodles and much more superior quality “char-siew”, making their product offerings a much better option compared to the old places’.
Perfectly-roasted “char siew” here - trumps those in most other places in KL, which is quite a mean feat, as the standard of “char siew” (Cantonese-style caramelised BBQ pork) is extremely high.
The noodles’ texture was also perfect, not too soft (gluggy) nor too springy. It’s dressed in the typical KL-style dark sauce dressing.
Additional order of “sui kow” (pork-shrimp dumplings). The version here tasted pretty average.
