Oribe is, by far, the best Japanese restaurant I’d come across in Kuala Lumpur. Executive Chef, Nagoya-born Hideaki Oritsuki, is a consummate perfectionist who prides himself on preparing amazingly tasty dishes from the freshest seasonal produce.

Book well ahead and ask for a seat at the sushi counter (instead of the tables).

Never mess with a sushi chef! Chef Oritsuki is very approachable and totally affable :smiley:

The omakase meal (RM410/US$96 per head, not including drinks) - worth every single cent!

Price aside, how does the fish and shari quality compared to Taka?

I’d say Taka by Sushi Saito has the best quality fish in terms of quality and choice. Oribe excels in its overall offerings, including cooked dishes.
