[Kuala Lumpur] English Afternoon Tea at the Drawing Room, St Regis

One of the best English afternoon teas I’d had in KL is at the elegant Drawing Room of the St Regis Kuala Lumpur, located at KL Sentral, away from the hustle and bustle of downtown KL.

What I particularly like about the afternoon tea spread at the Drawing Room is that one gets endless serving of its canapes and savoury sandwiches - a departure from other spreads around KL with their over-emphasis on sweet pastries and cakes to satisfy the typical Malaysian sweet-tooth.

The luxuriously assembled pastel-coloured seating were elegantly spread around a huge Fernando Botero horse.

The teas here were courtesy of TWG, the Singapore-owned company which specialises in luxury tea blends.

Clockwise from top-left: Terrine of foie gras with port and sweet wine on toasted brioche; Scottish smoked salmon with chives crème fraiche on rye bread; Egg mayonnaise “Melanosporum” black truffle; and King crab, avocado and Sakura mix.

Colourful and joyful tea, especially the new year theme! Impressed by the personal chocolate fountain, though I would have preferred a dark chocolate. The rooster cake (last photo) was it sweet or savoury?

I agree - dark chocolate fountain was my preference as well.
That Rooster cake was actually a mini-Red Velvet.
