Yes - I know these as rosettes, and they were sprinkled w/powdered sugar shortly after the fry. As kids we got excited about them, but sadly, mom must have hidden the apparatus, as she didn’t like to fry. Just a distant memory now. :upside_down_face:

Wanted to share a photo of Italian-American rosettes (cookies) as I know them. I had not noticed before that my grocery store sells them.

I prefer savory to sweet so I imagine that I would be more of a fan of Sri Lankan kokis.
