Thanks. Will check out the Shangri-la one online and see how it compares (someone seems to review these on YouTube!). I’m not really a buffet person but end up accompanying family members who have better culinary stamina than me.
I’m like you - buffets are often wasted on me, as I’ll end up trying a couple of salad/starter options, and a couple of meats/mains. I usually graze when I dine out, but I am a poor grazer when it comes to a buffet spread.
@klyeoh, I’m just doing some Google mapping of my KL eating plans. There seem to be a huge number of branches of Original Penang Kayu Nasi Kandar. Are all the branches similar? Or is there one which is more reliable food wise or a better bet comfort wise (I would prioritise cooking quality over comfort!)?
Although I haven’t been to Yemen, perhaps my favorite part of KL dining is Yemeni restaurants.
They’re seldom encountered in my travels, but when they’re around, I can’t get enough of the stews, khubz malawah (خبز ملوح) hubcap-sized bread, and bread-based desserts.
Thanks for this tip - we’ll keep an eye out for any Yemeni places. I’ve done a Google search and the menus look very interesting.
Sadly, not all their branches are created equal - there is only one outlet you should go to: No. 64, Jalan SS2/10, 47300 Petaling Jaya, Selangor Darul Ehsan, Malaysia.
BTW, when are you going to be in KL? The MICHELIN Guide KL & Penang 2025 announcement and presentation ceremony will be held in KL next month - Nov 14. I’ll be down there for a few days.
Thanks very much for pointing me to the correct branch to visit.
I think we will probably just miss each other! I arrive in KL on the evening of 21st November and depart on 27th November.
