After we’d decided on the details of this trip, I saw DJs featured in an episode of “Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives”, on Food Network UK. It immediately went on the list of “possibles” for places to try. I was particularly interested to see how a clam shack in Florida would compare with those in New England. It seemed unlikely – fried clams seemed one of those foods that don’t travel well – like BBQ or fish & chips.
But, you know, it was good. Although it seemed pricier than I recalled from our northern trip a year or so back. Maybe that’s inflation. Maybe that’s Key West. Certainly a decent lunch eaten in their back yard.
