[Key Largo, Florida] Doc's Diner

We were staying literally across the road at the Holiday Inn, where we did have a “breakfast included” package. However, after several buffet breakfasts in the previous segment of our trip, we just fancied one freshly cooked. It advertises itself as a “locals’ place and so it seemed with several customers obviously welcomed

Doc’s is owned by a real doc – a local optometrist. Hopefully his practice is as good with your eyes as his diner is with your pancakes. They’re significantly thick ones – but fluffy and as light as air. My partner took it with crisp bacon. My own plate was also a good start to the day – eggs, ham, potatoes – the spuds more like a rosti than a hash brown. Coffee was good.

I’m only now seeing your posts as I just joined HO not long ago. Thanks for the write-ups. I haven’t been to any of these places since I only get down to S Fla a few times a year, but I appreciate them nonetheless. Nice to see you had some good eats at different places.
