Joanne Trattoria UWS

Monday night we felt like Italian and decided to try something in my friend’s new neighborhood. We decided on Joanne Trattoria on W 68 St.
From the ambience, service and food it was superb.
It’s relatively small and cozy with an inviting bar area.
We shared a perfect Caesar salad. My dinner companion does not like salty, hairy fish so I asked for the anchovies on the side and was served an ample portion. We had a small size salad which was perfect for two people.
We ordered two entrees, Chicken Parm with spaghetti and Spaghetti Bolognese which were both excellent and the portions were ample for one of us to have leftovers.
We were full so we skipped dessert but the dessert menu looked interesting.
There were several good looking specials which the table next to us ordered. They commented positively.
Let me add that the prices were reasonable. Total $65 with tip, no drinks.
All in all a very nice neighborhood place. We’ll be back!

$65 total for both of you? That’s quite inexpensive for the Upper West Side.

Thanks for this. Always good to have a recommendation for something reasonably priced near the opera.

New Yorker review (from 6 years ago) of Joanne:

According to it, the owners are Joseph and Cynthia Germanotta, the parents of Lady Gaga.
