On Rhode Island Ave, NE, this is a surprisingly spacious place with a lot of seating. The menu is purely Jamaican and not really a mix as the name might indicate.
I got brown stew chicken which comes with rice and peas and also a side of cabbage. It is a big mess of food that looks good and tastes even better. You have to be careful in ordering because some of the dishes like oxtail or fish can be quite expensive. Gone are the days when everything used to be cheap!
I also got a beef patty which is not made in house. The filling was typical of most patties, but the crust had a nice silky mouthfeel. Nice flavor with lingering heat and a solid finish. I was very pleased with the result.
