Jahunger, Cambridge MA

We hit the Georgia O’Keeffe exhibit at the MFA today, her work along with Henry Moore’s, are on display through early January and I highly recommend it.

We headed to Cambridge after for a late lunch at Jahunger, an Uyghur restaurant. We enjoyed it very much. Leek/Egg Dumplings, Polo, which was lamb with rice and a yogurt sauce and Jahunger noodles for me. Hand pulled noodles, beef, caramelized onions, cilantro and a LOT of Szechaun red chile peppers.
I took many off the dish, they were mouth numbing and detracting but I really did like the dish.
We finished with the honey cake with green tea ice cream.
I think best with a group so many things could be ordered and shared. The chicken stew looked especially good when it went by. We plan to gather the kids and head back during the holidays . They started in Providence, RI and recently opened the Cambridge spot. About $65.00 before tip, no drinks, just flat water at the table.
Jahunger.

Thanks. Looks interesting. The chicken stew seems to be dapanji, and their version is now high on my list.

We saw it at another table, it is served family style, large portion to share. I think we may need to consider a HO get together so we can sample the entire menu.

I know about the PVD location, but I still haven’t been. I’ve been thinking about those noodles for some time now. A HO-down would be fun but I don’t think I’d be able to participate any time soon. 2025? (Which sounds straight out of the Jetsons).
