ISO 1/4 lb natural casing franks in Central Florida

Recently moved from Boston area. Spoiled by Pearl Kountry Klub snap dogs but they don’t distribute here.

Have tried all the local super markets as well as many one-off meat markets. Have found 1/4 pound skinless and smaller nc but not both together. Publix, Walmart, etc., have pretty much the same variety. Not willing to pay the shipping from Pearl to here ($100+).

Vienna Beef makes a 1/4 lb nc but don’t think they have a distributor in CF. was hoping there would be one local butcher who would make them if no supermarket carried national brands.

Still looking three years later.

At the time of the original post a generous HO’er suggested a butcher in Apollo Beach. Several calls and visits proved fruitless but the suggestion was appreciated.

Maybe Floridians prefer skinless?

My sibs live in central Florida, last trip we stopped at Gafs butcher in Deland, worth giving them a call.

What was there about thr butcher in AB? Theyre on their summer vacation right now, so let me know how I can assist

We can’t find natural casing dogs here in South Carolina either. We get ours shipped from Usinger’s out of Milwaukee. They’re regular shipping is pricy, but several times a year they offer a flat rate of $12.95 or so. Sign up for their emails to get a heads up.

Sorry for my lack of knowledge but doesn’t Nathan’s use natural casing? If so, maybe something like this/

If you’re on FB there’s a site called Hot Dog Nation.
I’d ask over there.

I called at least once and went over there a couple of times. AB is a bit of a haul from Winter Haven but it was when we were new here so I was happy to explore.

Struck out every time, maybe will try again when they are back from vaca. Thanks for trying to help.

Not on FB, thanks.

Those are skinless, I’ve seen them in Publix. Restaurant Depot has Vienna products but not the 1/4 lb natural casing.

I went ahead and asked for you. If there’s an answer they’ll know.

"Many good dogs available in Florida now. Hoffman’s, Sabrett, Sahlens & more are all available at Publix. Occasionally you could find a Thumanns Dog at some specialty stores. I own a hotdog restaurant in downtown Sarasota, where I serve Hummel brothers hotdogs. If you are in the area stop in.

“You might find
Hofmanns in Florida. They make a beef dog, their German franks ( beef and pork) and snappy drillers (pork and veal).”

I’ll post more as they come in

Thanks, that was very nice of you. I have found plenty of 1/4 lbers and a few natural casing but none that are both.

For now I load up when I am back in Boston, nothing beats a Pearl Kountry Klub frank!

They’ve had a fire. Website is still down it seems. A few years back they supplied the hams and Prinskorv (n/c pork Vienna sausages) for Ikea stores in the US for Christmas. I’ve had the Swedish ham and Prinskorv and they were good but I don’t know what all they have. Good luck.

Oh that stinks! Everything I’ve had from them has been great.

Look for Conecuh Sausage hot dogs – and all other Conecuh Sausage products. They make the best smoked sausage anywhere. There’s their store locator – https://conecuhsausage.com/store-locator/

The problem seems to be the 4/1 size.
I had plenty tell me on HDN about various brands and stores carrying NC dogs but nobody mentioned the big boys being available.

Thanks for the reply. It’s not clear from their website if they are natural casing. At any rate they are 6-1#. Gotta have the 1/4 lb! :upside_down_face:

Yes, I can find many natural casings and a few 1/4 lb but none that are both. :rage:
