Just wondering if this board can get even one post a month, so it would still look active
Are you still here Rich, maybe you can help me out. I have wonderful neighbors who loved The Castle in Tarrytown. They were/are heartbroken. I had no idea that it had closed. Would you happen to know of anything comparable in that area, or something comparable in the Warwick, NY area. Hope all is well
TIA
Thnx , and Happy Holidays, but I don’t know that area at all. Besides, these days I mostly search out pizza & burger joints and rarely “indulge” even on that. Good luck and HNY. I’m not familiar with The Castle, so Its harder to find something, but I used to spend some time in Greenwich by the Bruce museum. There was, what I thought of ,a luxury hotel/ vacation spot ( I never stayed there - so a grain of salt with this advice) but The Delamar Greenwich Harbour Hotel.
My brother got married at the Castle in 2011. It was a nice venue, if a bit frumpy. I’ll let him and my SIL know about it closing, if they don’t know already.
When another SIL hosted her daughter’s rehearsal dinner at their home a few years ago, one of the recommended hotels for out-of-town guests was the Delamar that @richb51 mentioned. She has much higher standards than my husband and I, so although we didn’t stay there, I’m sure it must be luxurious (she had many wealthy guests coming in from all over). The vibe looks quite different from the Castle.
TY, I think they were more interested in dining

Thank you for responding …we don’t eat out much anymore either mostly because with a few exceptions the food in the immediate area sucks … HAPPY HOLIDAYS
As I recall they are supposed to have a very good restaurant there and certainly in that area there are probably a plethora of good eats (my word for the day L).
It may suck…. but at least it’s expensive.
There are a couple, very close to us The Grange and a newer one Pasa D’oro at the Jolly Onion. Also Newton has a couple with excellent food but none of them have the ambiance they are looking for. Oh wait, you are referring to the Delamar …they are looking for something between Tarrytown and the Warwick area where it borders on NJ I should have included that. EDIT: l am going to tell them about the Delamar regardless, thank you
