Executive Chef Jordan Petriello, who has been in charge of the kitchen for 3 years, is leaving. He announced it on Instagram. His last day will be this Sunday. My opinion: a huge loss. No word from the owners about his replacement.
Chef Rob Santello (formerly of Heirloom Kitchen amongst others) posted that he’s doing R&D at Il Nido. Don’t know if that means he’ll be a permanent fixture or not, but I figured I’d share.
Santello was the chef at a special 5-course dinner at Il Nido on April 15. Via Google, I learned that he’s currently the executive chef at Tasca Bistro, in Montclair. Doesn’t seem likely that he’s going to be e.c. here.
Tasha just announced they’re closing.
I think you meant to write Tasca. And you’re right. It closed on May 4th. That leaves Santello available to be e.c. at Il Nido.

Il Nido posted on Instagram that they are now offering a 3-course prix-fixe menu on Wednesdays and Thursdays, “crafted by Chef Santello.” So it appears he has been appointed the restaurant’s executive chef.
