Butt chugging has been around at least since the mid 80’s when I first knew about. Was kind of an urban legend in that I never saw evidence of it - but someone would have to get that film developed back in the 80’s so there is less visual evidence from back then.
I think I have an idea for a new restaurant…

I remember hearing about butt-chugging alcohol --so cough medicine doesn’t surprise me much.
I have known several ER and trauma nurses over the years – and the one unanimous thought is that some people will put anything you can possibly think of in their butts for just about any reason you can come up with.

The “chugging” part was new to me. A vodka-soaked tampon inserted rectally to stop the DTs in alcholics with esophageal or stomach problems, was not.
