I don't like "X"

I spy them in mixed nuts and always hope they’re macadamias :joy:

I dislike cashews. They may just be my least favorite nut - chalky, sweet-ish lil buggers. Thankfully, others love them so they can have all of mine. I kinda feel similar about chickpeas, unless they’re hummus or falafel.

Nope, my DH hates them and I am lukewarm on them - I’ll eat them, but they’re my least favorite nut. I like the flavor in Nutella/liqueur/etc., but the nuts themselves, meh.

They’re ok in a dish that calls for them; as a stand-alone they’re not even as good as Spanish peanuts, which are hard to find unless you order them. Almonds, pecans, macadamia nuts, the old red dyed pistachios that would color your fingers … I like roasted peanuts in the shell! Work for your supper …

I like hazelnuts when they are in the shell and fresh.
I dislike them if not. Must be something that changes them when exposed to air

I will happily take your share. I have to not keep them in the house, because I have zero self control and will eat enough to make me deeply regret it the next day.

Yeah, I think I can safely say that I have yet to meet a nut that I disliked. When I was a kid my mom used to make chocolate Brazil nut cookies. They were fabulous, but if I never have to try to shell those buggers again . . . A few years back I spotted some shelled ones, but haven’t seen them since.

I’m that way with pistachios. I could eat my weight in them. Other favorites are walnuts, pecans, Brazil nuts. Cover them in dark chocolate & I’ll eat almost any nut.

Speaking of nuts…. I’ll let Christopher Guest have the last word.

One of my favorite Christopher Guest movies. Jennifer Coolidge is a national treasure.

It’s tough to pick just one. Spinal Tap, Best in Show, A Mighty Wind… I can rewatch any one of those whenever they are on (and own the DVDs, but no DVD player).

I’m that way with peanuts.

Don’t really like peanuts from a jar. Fresh roasted in the shell? Yes, please.

I mainly remember him fondly from The Princess Bride.

And somehow never got around to Best In Show. Maybe I’ll remedy that this weekend or after US Thanksgiving.

I can 100% recommend Best in Show

I find it superior to Waiting for Guffman or A Mighty Wind, though those are both very amusing in their own right. But Fred Willard and Jennifer Coolidge in Best in Show are a master class in secondary characters just being the perfect spice to an already hilarious stew.

Ok, that was a really tortured analogy, but watch it. Worth your while.

I like all nuts. I’m a big fan of cashews and hazelnuts, aka filberts, Oregon’s state nut. Almonds are way down the list thought because I grew up down the road from an almond ranch and had my fill of every preparation you can think of.
Back on subject, I can’t think of anything I don’t like that I have tried. Some more than others. There is a lot of offal I don’t care to try, a visual thing, I may like it if I did try it

Me, too. I have to buy only shelled pistachios, as at least the shells slow me down a little.

Even though I recently stated that dill should be reserved for pickles, I can also eat the stuff sans gaggage. I’ll eat at a friend’s house, creamy dill sauce on salmon or something, I’ll get it down with a smile. Since childhood, though, I have not, and can not, get caraways seeds past my gullet. I don’t hate the little guys, and even steam shrimp with them. Just can’t get them down.

+1 on the in-shell nuts. I adore hazelnuts out of the shell, as I do every other nut out there.

When the pandemic first began, I laid in several pounds of locally roasted in the shell peanuts. Not a burned on in the bunch!

In some defense of picky eating - Eating is such a personal activity. You’re putting a foreign substance into your mouth and swallowing it. I’m always amazed and impressed by people who say they will eat anything. How do you manage that when so many things are actively revolting? You have my respect!
