How's the weather wherever you are?

Rainy, rainy, rainy. I won’t complain.

The weather here in the Sacramento valley is, briefly, just lovely. It’s 60-70F highs, the rain has largely gone, and we still have about 4-6 weeks before the summer gets unbearable and we end up with 2 weeks of triple digits.

Time to dig out the shorts and Birkenstocks and stuff the hoodies back into the closet.

I thought we were done with this crap in Ottawa. Woke up to 11cm of snow, and the same for the rest of the day! At least I don’t have to shovel the stuff or trudge to work through it!

I wore Birks for a few days last week. I stopped by the garden centre to pick up some manure and peat moss, and a few flurries started to fall.

I stopped a another store to pick up more cloches to protect more tulips from deer, and my car was covered in snow 15 minutes later. Poor visibility on my drive home.

One of my dogs wears a coat when it drops below freezing, so he is back to wearing his winter coat. There’s snow on the ground this morning.

Ugh. We’re down to rain with occasional mixed sleet and snow, which has finally tapered off to fading drizzle and clouds. In theory the sun will come out tomorrow. Stay strong up there!

Collected maple sap again yesterday and the wind was just howling across the fields. I had thrown my snow pants into the laundry room after the ice storms, figuring I could clean them and put them away for the season. HAH! I had to haul them out yesterday. We had a windchill of -19C. We’re sitting at a balmy -2 right now but at least it looks like we may be out of the negative digits for our daily high in the next couple of weeks.

The Big J and I are watching a couple on youtube in the Dordogne region of France. Yeah, they’re up to 23C during the day now and are the same latitude as we are. I’m moving.

More light snow in southwestern Ontario.

For a minute there I thought I was looking in the mirror. I have the same expression on my face.

Hahaha

More rain. We’ll take it. There are still a few fires burning as of yesterday (at least partially contained).

Today in Phoenix, AZ it officially hit 100 degrees (F).

It was only 98 at my house, so I can’t join the triple digit club, just yet.

Snow isn’t quite done with us this April here in Massachusetts.

When one of the local radio stations said yesterday (when it was sunny and 75°F) that snow and rain were on the menu for today, I didn’t believe it. Oh yeah, it’s spring!
It is looking pretty dreary out there right now and the winds are nasty.
BTW, does anyone remember a cologne called ‘Its Spring!’ from the 60’s?

I’ve been guarding my tulips this year, after half a dozen were chewed down by critters in March. That was after I had gone through my first bottle of deer and rabbit repellent, and 10 kg of chicken manure to dissuade some critters.

We have 15 tulips that have bloomed so far. I count my tulips after they bloom.

It’s been reaching a high of around 71⁰ F / 22⁰C in southwest Ontario the last couple days.

Cold, grey, and damp in Berkeley this morning, with the predicted high temperature around what we usually see in February, high 50Fs

It’s been depressing. And I’m supposed to be going to a picnic in Danville on Sunday.

Very nice!
