A biscuit story from the other side of my town
We have a similar cookie made by Pepperidge Farm. I’ve always eaten them chocolate down, but I assume that’s because that’s the way they’re packaged. I can’t believe it affects the taste much though.
Hmm. It might make sense as a way to minimize crumbs — the chocolate side holds it together a bit.
But depending on how you’re holding the biscuit and how fast you’re eating it, you might have a bigger melted chocolate on fingers problem than the other way around.
Reminds me I have a pack in the fridge.
The chocolate on the tongue makes sense, but that fibre on top could scratch the roof of one’s mouth. Better to dip the biscuit entirely in chocolate to prevent injury.
Walkers has some fully enrobed shortbread available.

I didn’t even try a digestive until a free one showed up near my kettle in a British hotel room. I always assumed they were health food, a bit like rice cakes or alfalfa sprouts.
Hob Nobs are a superior biscuit imo.

Agreed. And I felt very let down when I recently bought LIDL’s version - just didnt have the depth of flavour of the original.
By the by, I also enjoy plain digestives as a biscuit for cheese
If you’re cramming the whole thing into your mouth in one bite, it probably doesn’t matter so much.
I agree. I like plain digestives with Stilton, Shropshire Blue , and other blues.
I like having Scottish oatcakes with cheese too.
