Hot NJ food deals

I thought I’d start a thread for us to share good NJ food deals. I’m always on the prowl!

Just grabbed 11 Peter luger bacons from ShopRite. I go to ShopRite a LOT to hunt for clearance deals. Been wanting to try luger bacon for years now but couldn’t justify the price. Can’t say no at 2.70 a pack!

One of my favorite food holidays is here - St Patrick’s Day!

Looks like Stop and Shop has the best deal for me, 1.69 for point, 17c cabbage!

If you’re into flat, it’s 1.99 at ShopRite. Anyone got any other St. Patrick’s deals or good corned beef recipes? I started having my corned beef with horseradish cream sauce and holy cow what a combo! Sneak a little MSG into the sauce for an extra good time.

Stop and shop was my go to around this time of year, we have been down in New Orleans the past few years for St Patrick’s Day and no one puts corned beef on sale like they do in NJ.

The Marlboro ShopRite has cabbage this week at 9c/lb. with a ShopRite card and digital coupon.

I like to turn those into pastrami. I haven’t seen them on sale in a while, or at least I’m never in the store when they are. Google “cheater pastrami” from amazing ribs.

I’m assuming free matzo is coming up soon

Oh man I wish I had a smoker so I could try this!!

@RGR are you sure it’s not 19c? I checked the Marlboro circular online and I’m seeing 19c. Was it like an in store only unadvertised thing?

If you have a kettle style barbecue, you can do it. I don’t smoke a ton, but that is all I use these days. Heck , even if you had a gas grill you could jerry rig some wood chips to smoke…

Oops! You’re right, @joonjoon! It is 19c/lb. with SR card and digital.

And if you’re looking for ways to use the cabbage, my favorite are hot and sour cabbage soup, and shredded cabbage with hot sesame sauce (such as one gets in Chinese restaurants on noodles).
